Image of the day: ZATOON by Valistika
We catch up with Miguel Abio Ruiz, half of Spanish studio Valistika, to find out about recent project ZATOON
Computer Arts: ZATOON: what's the story?
Miguel Abio Ruiz: ZATOON is a San Francisco-based record company that we collaborate with as often as we can. Oscar Amaya, from the label, is an amazing person with lots of passion, energy and a great taste in music. He had an idea to connect music and art through an apparel brand. We loved that concept, so we started working on it.
CA: Tell us about your brief ...
MAR: Our brief was to develop some T-shirts inspired by musical cities: San Francisco, New York, Chicago ... We started sending some design, they liked it and the collection kept growing. Finally, they decided to design a catalogue to put all that designs together.
CA: Where do you get your inspiration from?
MAR: Tons of people inspire us; we like lots of styles and disciplines. Artists like: Tim Lahan, Sam Green, Hort Studio, Mike Perry, Honet, Nobrow collective, naming just a few.
