Risograph by Jamie Jones
Bristol-based illustrator and recent graduate Jamie Jones talks us through Risograph, a project born out of his annoyance at 'text-walkers' ...
Computer Arts [CA]: Tell us about the project ...
Jamie Jones [JJ]: The print came about from an older idea I'd had after reading a little article about 'text neck', which talked about the strain on mobile phone user's necks from too much phone usage. It's also something that annoys me day-to-day, when people don't pay attention to where they're walking.
CA: What else in inspiring you work, at the moment?
JJ: A lot of my ideas are focussed around our relationship with technology and interacting with the world generally. I'm not sure why that is; it just seems to be something that I'm always thinking about.

CA: How would you describe you work?
JJ:I love making work that's bold, not too intricate and makes use of shapes that are a little unusual or over-emphasised. I also like to keep things relatively flat, which might be down to an appreciation of paper-cut aesthetic.
CA: So you prefer working in print?
JJ: Working for print is fun because the process tends to have an influence on what you create. For example, with this print, it was cool being able to use different opacities of certain colours. I'm working on another print at the moment and want to play around with overlays and different opacities more this time.
