Studio Toogood invites you into The Back Room

Interior and environmental design outfit Studio Toogood is showing off its latest project at a special event in its London, UK studio

Studio Toogood's The Back Room project is a celebration of the 'post-industrial era', specifically the "resurgence of individuals and small collectives applying their own skills within the urban city to produce, make, manufacture and sell direct."

To that end, studio director Faye Toogood will be launching her own furniture collection, BATCH, which uses a UK-based small scale production process to turn previously limited edition pieces into items that are available to buy worldwide.

Event details

Visitors to The Back Room project event will be able to "find the beauty in the utilitarian," the studio says, "whilst tucking into a new take on a ploughmans, 'The M25 Luncheon,' served up by food designers Arabeschi di Latte' and "washed down with a mug of locally brewed beer."

Studio Toogood's The Back Room project event takes place between Saturday 15th and Friday 21st September at 1 Baldwin Terrace, London N1 7RU. Doors are open from 11am to 5pm each day. Lunch costs £10.

You can read all about another Studio Toogood project - a pop-up wine bar created for Penfolds Wine in Walsh Bay, Sydney - in Computer Arts Collection Part 5: Advertising, which goes on sale on Thursday 13 September 2012.
