Computer Arts Desktop Wallpaper 8
Burgerman! Burgerman! Does whatever a burger… Nope, that doesn’t work. Ignore our lame pun and help yourself to some delightful desktop decoration.
Jon Burgerman draws, paints, clicks and sleeps.
Working across a variety of media that includes drawing, painting, print and animation; design’s high priest of doodle has constructed a peculiar world inhabited by an array of strange creatures and amusing characters. Anxiety, cynicism, confusion and cakes often tie his incessant doodling together.
Burgerman’s work has graced The Guardian, Grafik, Pictoplasma, Creative Review, The Art Of Rebellion 2, Designed to Help, The Fundamentals of Illustration, This is a Magazine and, of course, Computer Arts. Surprisingly, this is his first cover for us, although he has created two cover designs for sister title Computer Arts Projects.
Burgerman received a D&AD Silver Award nomination for his work for Levi’s and has worked on projects for the BBC, MTV, Pepsi, Gortex and Puma. He has even designed a sick bag for Virgin Atlantic.
Recent projects include a range of vinyl and plush toys, a special ‘Burgertown’ racetrack for Sony’s PSP game WipEout Pure, numerous tin and printed lifestyle products for the popular Australian based NookArt and a huge hand-drawn installation for the brand new Miss Sixty boutique hotel in Italy.
This diverse resumé proves Burgerman was born to illustrate Computer Arts’ No Limits Design feature, a guide to experimental projects and the self-promotional benefits they offer. As the man himself puts it very succinctly: “Almost anything can be printed on, giving rise to a possible world where everything is designer, customised and collectable.” He should know.
