Kiwi!

From the 3D World showreel: Squash-and-stretch techniques from classic Tex Avery cartoons inform the animation in Dony Permedi’s short about a flightless bird and the quest to fulfil his deepest desire

This is a film that works hard to keep the audience guessing. Animator Dony Permedi’s effective short provides few clues about what’s going on in the world of his aspirational little kiwi: the audience is kept just at the edge of understanding as the little tan blob of a character toils away on some incomprehensible cliff-side project. But when the time is right, all is finally revealed. Like the titular character, the viewer’s perspective shifts, and the bird’s dream of a lifetime takes flight in dramatic fashion.
