Tale of Rock

From the 3D World showreel: What happens when a rockin’ dragon takes on a horned demon dude in a guitar duel to the bitter end? It’s time to turn the volume up to 11 and find out…

Tap-dancing penguins? Pah! Cooking rats? Phooey! Where are the hard-rocking dragons and evil demons armed with molten half-lizard Fender Strats? They’re wailing on axes in a guitar battle to the death in the centre of a mountain, that’s where. It’s time to meet some 3D characters who really kick ass.

Owing a debt to the epic lyrics of acts like Tenacious D and the monster-slaying storylines of fantasy computer games, Tale of Rock is the hilarious handiwork of two students from the University of Hertfordshire’s digital animation course. As part of their final coursework project, Stephen Payne banged heads with John Godwin and came up with the idea of a plucky young dragon and his attempts to win a band’s guitarist audition, only to end up duelling it out with a demon for rock god status.
