The Cags

From the 3D World showreel – we may often all feel like mere cogs in the system, but rarely has the concept been explored so thoroughly as in this unusually titled Russian stop-motion-and-CG short

We humans spin through the universe like so many cogs in a giant machine. Independent filmmaker Alexei Petrov has taken this weathered concept, polished it with a touch of CG, combined it with his individual sensibilities, and wound up with an impressive, entertaining short film, The Cags.

Two enthusiastic cogs illustrate life, albeit briefly, outside the confines of their repressive machinery
