Hi Bec

I wanted to drop you a line to say that I found your article really encouraging. I reached issue 7 of my free, quarterly, printed mag in January this year, but had to stop printing it due to lack of ads revenue (and start-up funding before that). I have since taken it back online and am now planning a smaller, less frequent and paid for print-run. I have also turned down two offers of ‘partnership’, which would have essentially meant an income (of sorts) for me, but the magazine and brand I spent so long building up would have been filled with logos and sponsorship and the editorial integrity would have been lost. Maybe not the best business sense, but I care about quality. It's something we have less and less of these days it seems...

Anyway, thanks for the heartening read, and keep up the brilliant work with Blanket. Gutted your print version has sold out!

I agree with Ellie, I really enjoyed reading this article. I produce a newsletter for my church but have been asked about making it a magazine. I know nothing about publishing a magazine, but after reading your article I feel encouraged to at least try. Thank you.
