I couldn't agree more.

I was also very lucky to be invited to attend TYPO London and I considered it to be one of the most valuable experiences I had in 2011. As a student in my third year and about to make my way into the professional world, I found that the conference was an amazing insight into the design industry and the inner workings of the design studio.

I found that being in a conference hall surrounded by inspiring people and being shown an amazing range of graphic design first hand had me generating more ideas in a short space of time than I had ever experienced. Design conferences such as TYPO London are a fantastic springboard for discussion and allow creativity to circulate so much more than If we all just stay in our isolated worlds in front of our macs.

I very much agree with Sydney and Emma that we should consider these conferences an investment in our futures. And also, if you are as lucky as I was to have a free ticket land in your lap, seize it immediately. You may find yourself face to face with the design legends that inspire your work.
