Sam Glynn is a 22-year-old illustrator from southwest London. He graduated from The Arts Institute at Bournemouth in 2006. "Since then I've created images for Notion magazine, 55DSL, All Age Concerts, Brille Records and ANTI Magazine," he says.

Sam creates his illustrations with a wide variety of media and traditional techniques, which he brings together in Photoshop.

Recently Sam's been influenced by shapes and patterns: "I find they bring a greater feeling of depth to my already highly layered and textured images."

TIGER PRINT "This is an original T-shirt graphic I created in collaboration with my friend Cat Carroll. It was part of a glam rock-inspired collection she created for Swatch Alternative Fashion Week."

SEASONS "I created this image for ANTI Magazine. I wanted to represent seasons in the way that fashion types say, 'This season is all about such and such look'. This piece started my current interest in patterns."

Emanuel Lakoutsis and Ellie Kakoulidou, aka Be Nice, are two graphic designers from Thessaloniki, Greece. "We both graduated from The Surrey Institute of Art & Design, University College with BA (Hons) in graphic design," say the pair. "But after years living and working in London we decided to return home and set up our own design studio."

Besides their studio projects, Be Nice have recently been busy launching their own online boutique, Supermandolini.com. "This is where we sell our work, which ranges from T-shirts and accessories to posters and canvases."

RIOT PARK "Arrogance is a human characteristic, a point of reference for many individuals who are interested only in their personal wellbeing disregarding the devastating effects their actions have on others. All that and a lot of black humour paint a portrait of a scene full of contrasts and mayhem."

WINDOW SEAT "The ideal flight is at night. As the bright view of your destination starts to creep in through your window the plane flirts with the city until the abrupt shake of landing. You can't help think how much prettier everything looks in the dark when in reality nothing has changed."

Mehmet Gözetlik is a 29-year-old senior art director at Zebra Design Factory in Istanbul where he creates marketing projects for clients including Nike, Camper, G-Star and JTI (Camel). He also works as a freelancer. "I have experience in many different platforms and media, such as broadcast, print and interactive," says Mehmet. "I believe design is my destiny, and I have a motto: 'Open your wings and take a new breath'."

RAW DEFENDER "This is a press advert created for the promotion of the G-Star Land Rover off-road vehicle."

One of her pieces of artwork, entitled Home, was recently selected to be shown as one of only 20 exhibits in the Energy category at Tiger Translate 2008, a platform highlighting rising creative stars from Asia.

"My inspirations come from my life experiences and everything around me," says He. "I'm especially inspired by local Chinese arts, such as mask designs for operas, the shape of small figures in card-making and the textures on jewellery. Simply surfing on the internet is also quite helpful."

CONTROL "The girl depicted wonders if she can have this piece of nice cream cake, but without becoming fatter."
