With a degree in creative imaging: graphic design from the University of Huddersfield and an eye for arresting editorial imagery and design, Robert is primed to tackle the creative world. 2008 saw the launch of his online magazine, Sticks & Stones, a project, "Created to provide an insight into the interests of people who look at the world a little differently." This attitude extends to photography, album covers and website design. "Basically, I'm a lover of all things creative," says Robert.
CRIM Collective Vs A Shop Called Wood To kick off the launch of Wood, a new store in Huddersfield, the CRIM Collective - a design team comprising both students and lecturers from the University of Huddersfield - was commissioned to create visuals for the opening night. Along with live drawings, each member of the collective produced a one-off A1 poster based on the theme of wood.

Oxford-born Central St Martins student Zoë Regöczy is symptomatic of an attitudinal shift in the young creative industries - one that aligns itself with the transience of the social climate and appears at odds with the concept of 'priceless' art. "I love the idea of art being disposable, that my illustrations won't be around in 100 years time and that they're as momentary as current fashions. It's a way to continuously produce and become something new," says Zoë.
Portfolio 001 "Inspired by a particular version of string theory, I wanted to illustrate the limitless connections between people," says Zoë of this piece. "As I began to sell prints, I asked each customer to photograph my image in the environment it was placed in. I got to see my work wrap the walls of people's homes worldwide and watch the strings and ties unfold."

Portfolio 004 This work was commissioned for Estrojam, a music and culture festival to be held in Chicago later this year. "The brief was to create something rock 'n' roll that all women could relate to," Zoë explains. "Using felt tips, highlighter and ink as a base, I scanned in this first layer and printed off layer two - to which I then, using pen, applied the intricate line detail. This process repeats itself until the desired final illustration is produced."

Portuguese designer and illustrator João - who's currently studying Communication Design while also working as a freelancer for various studios, agencies and brands including Bleed Studio and Pilot magazine - isn't one to put all his creative eggs in one basket.
"Despite not sticking to a single style for too long, my work has been described as a retro futuristic mixture, mixing vintage, electro and classical aesthetics in a single experimental piece," he says. "The positive aspect of having such a wide range of styles on my portfolio is being able to adapt to and fulfil all my clients' needs effectively."
The Party João created this self-initiated piece to plug his portfolio. "I mixed retro and modern aesthetics with the use of geometric shapes, black and white illustrations and vivid colours," he says.

Growing up in Michigan, it was an obvious choice for freelancer Jesse Hora (who works under the moniker Jesse Hora Dot Com) to peddle his creative wares on the streets of Chicago. So far, his portfolio boasts work for big names including Adidas Originals, Mountain Dew, Miller Brewing Co, Sims Snowboards, WarnerBros/Reprise Records, Chicago Magazine and The Onion, a roll-call whose variety truly demonstrates the scope of his skills.
Jesse's passion for creating works of art that call on imagination, intelligence and humour has invited some to say that they, "Never stray far from the ridiculous and playful while remaining detailed and thoughtful." A claim with which he wholeheartedly agrees. Check out his website for a chuckle.
March_STOW The 'Some Type Of Wonderful' collaboration, curated by Lifelounge, saw top typographers from across the globe respond to a brief based on a month of the year. Jesse had fun with March. "Stylistically, I wanted to show the juxtaposition of the rigid, ordered act of marching with the organic, free-flowing doodle line-work," he explains.

This Swedish-born, Sydney-based designer is about as fresh as they get, having just graduated from the Billy Blue College of Design in Sydney. His frank, purposeful editorial and packaging designs have already seen him scoop Blue Marlin's Spark Award and the Yellow Sock Award from Billy Blue for 'Breaking new ground'.
Internships with Saatchi & Saatchi in Sweden, London's Blue Marlin and The Creative Method in Sydney have helped hone Hampus's graphic skills, and his frank designs so far adorn everything from book sleeves and album covers to water bottles and food packaging. Now that he's graduated and up for grabs, we'll see which agency gets lucky...
Gallucci Hampus recently turned his hand to this retro-influenced packaging design for punk band Galluci, "Whose music is heavenly influenced by the late 1980s," he explains. "They even recorded their whole album on tape to help capture the intensity and old sound.
"Considering these facts, I designed a modernised cassette case. I transformed typical cassette characteristics into a more suitable style that captured the style of the band."

Software Photoshop, Illustrator, Cinema 4D
This 26-year-old graphic designer splits his creative efforts between work for the fashion and music industries and a number of personal side projects, which he enjoys pushing beyond commercial ventures and deeper into the realm of digital fine art.
Of his collage-inspired style, process and influences, Robert says: "In a way it's a kind of controlled abstraction, usually involving a centralised figured, that acts as a focal point for the otherwise chaotic nature of each piece. I use the phrase 'mixed media' as a kind of umbrella term that enables me to incorporate many media, which range from 3D renders to bits of pencil work. Conceptually, the work is usually emotionally driven and tends to hint at a certain emptiness - something outside the image itself."
Forever Heavy Robert combined his Photoshop skills with some Cinema 4D effects in creating this work. "It's part of a series that examines the complex nature of beauty," he explains. "Each image in the series is meant to portray both the positive and negative aspects of beauty, as well as giving some indication of its ephemeral nature."

The founder of design agency Studio Blup - a Southampton/London-based team whose work ranges across logo, web and editorial design and beyond - graphic design graduate Mr Dines' contemporary style has attracted commissions from high-profile clients such as Nike and BSkyB, as well as local businesses looking for an injection of modern cool in their bar interiors or webpages.
While Studio Blup continues to work on a range of creative projects, including art direction, design and illustration, Mr Dines' own bold handiwork is being snapped up to front clubnight promo material and music releases, such as those from hip-hoppers C.monts.
Bang Bang Kissy Sell This illustration was commissioned by the nightclub Junk. "The brief was based on the word 'explosion'," says Dines. "This gave us the opportunity to explore a vibrant illustrative piece set in outer space."
