WELCOME TO DULLSVILLE "The brief for this piece was to make some interesting graphic design for something we found boring. I based this piece on my hometown. It was all created as pixel art. I used pixel art because however boring the actual image is, if it's created in pixel art it becomes so much more interesting."

Phil Wong, 25, graduated with an MA from Kingston University and has been creating illustrations on a regular basis ever since. "I have recently worked on weekly commissions for The Epoch Times newspaper, monthly posters for The Letchworth Arts Centre and animated for an E-learning company," he says.
"My hand-drawn images are scanned into the computer and usually manipulated in Photoshop, changing the colours, adding or subtracting bits until the image starts to resemble something finished," Wong continues. "In the process, happy accidents occasionally happen, which I usually just run with. I don't like the drawing to be too rigid, and this also adds a bit of character to them."
