| Quark details XPress 7 Computer Arts - Garrick - 18 May 2005 12:55pm Quark has released details of its long-awaited layout and design upgrade, XPress 7. As you would expect, the company has gone all-out for transparency, with version 7 set to enable users to specify the opacity of the pixels that make up any items or content in the app - text, images, blends, boxes, frames, lines, tables and so on. There'll also be the ability to create drop shadows and feathered edges. Soft proofing tools are also to be present, with users able to preview how RGB prints to CMYK, or how CMYK prints to greyscale - all on-screen... In addition, the app will support Unicode and Opentype, and feature a new job-driven workflow. The latter will enable designers to keep job specs, resources, schedules, tasks and more within one place - called a Quark Job Jacket.
