Discover the art of reinvention in our big redesign issue, on sale now

Reinvention is a powerful thing. The most successful, transformative rebrands involve  rethinking a client’s business from the ground  up – it goes beyond a fresh coat of paint for  the logo and a catchy new slogan to truly  reposition what the client stands for

Well, we’ve done exactly that with your magazine. We took a step back and had a long, hard look at what a modern design magazine for the global design  community needs to be. Then we rebuilt Computer Arts a section at a time, designing across print and – at last – have created a fully bespoke version for the iPad.

One clear, simple message cuts through all of it. It’s stamped  on the cover, and repeated throughout: Design Matters. However you interpret it, and whatever field you work in, it’s a fact

Truly great design has the power to influence, and the power to bring sense, order and clarity to what would otherwise be nonsensical, disordered and confused. But it’s much more than a day job: we love design in all its forms, and we know you do too.

So, welcome to the all new Computer Arts. There have been some pretty radical changes, and no doubt you’ll have plenty of feedback. Whether it’s about the design, our choice of typefaces, paper stock or cover finishes – or of course the content itself – please get in touch and let us know what you think. Enjoy the issue
