October 2012 (#206)

Delight your clients every time with our latest issue, on sale now

While many of us like the idea of working on flagship projects for major international clients, the reality is that smaller is often better. You not only get to work on a more human scale, freed from layers of management and bureaucracy, but you’ll most likely have more creative freedom as well. And even when budgets are very limited, it’s possible to create innovative, eye-catching work that will keep you and your clients satisfied. In this month’s cover feature – ‘Delight your clients every time’ – we take a look at four client projects that delivered all of these things, with not a single big-name client in sight. The lesson you can take from all this is clear: it’s not the scale of the project or the size of the client that really matters, it’s the quality of the end result – and the satisfaction you get from knowing that a job’s been well done.

Some of the many things that can make a project more satisfying are the skills, tips and insights you pick up along the way – and you’ll find plenty to inspire you inside this issue: from expert advice on creating award-winning websites to tutorials on all your favourite Adobe creative apps. We think you’ll also be inspired by the amazing work of Spanish studio Marnich Associates and New York designer Kelli Anderson.

See you next month, and in the meantime feel free to drop me a line.
