Summer 2009 (#165)
The Graduate Showcase issue, on sale now
The Computer Arts Graduate Showcase has now been going strong for 13 years. Of all the planning, judging, organising and designing my team and I have undertaken to make this free supplement a reality, the most enjoyable part has been discovering where those featured in Graduate Showcases of previous years are now.
We hunted down students featured up to 10 years ago - it's fascinating to hear about the work they've done and companies they've started since being in our Graduate Showcase. Find out more on page 12 of the Graduate Showcase supplement.
And so to this year's Showcase. As with every year, we've been overwhelmed by the response. The standard is higher than ever and we've been incredibly fortunate to be able to enlist the services of some of the industry's top designers and illustrators to judge the work. To everyone who took part - entrants, judges, our sponsor and my team - thanks. All that remains for me to say to all of the featured graduates is 'congratulations' - especially to those who have won our coveted Excellence Award.
Next issue we bring you a huge special feature on cross-media design - how you can transfer your skills and become a more versatile, employable and successful designer. Pick it up in the UK from August 27.
