Extreme sports branding, part one

Extreme sports branding, part one

In the first part of Go Media's series on cross-media design, Oliver Barrett shows you the process of creating a logo and print piece for an extreme-sports brand. Next month, he'll be adapting it for the web.

In this four-part series, the fine staff at Go Media, myself included, will show you how to create brand artwork and apply it across different media. In this particular case, we're working with a fictitious snowboarding company called Yellow Snowboards. We'll start off with a logo and a print ad. In the following months, we'll be exploring the brand's migration to web, broadcast, and mobile forms of media.

In this month's tutorial I'll cover the creation of the brand logo that will be used for all the different media and design a simple print advert. The print ad shows how the logo integrates with snowboard-related imagery and how Go Media's vector packs can be applied to a design.
