Flipping the page

This tutorial walks you through a simple way of taking your InDesign document through to Flash and creating a multifunctional page-flip application for you to distribute easily around the web.

We’ll do this by using some great open source software called MegaZine, which comes pre-built with an array of options to play with. We will cover the basics of setting the application up and making the best use of the software.

The first three steps of the tutorial cover how to convert your InDesign documents to compressed JPEGs, although rather than supplying the InDesign version of our own documents, we have supplied them as ready-compressed JPEGs (in effect skipping Steps 1 to 3.) If using your own InDesign documents, however, you will need to follow Steps 1 to 3 to create the JPEGs.
