Warp tool and texture experiments

Warp tool and texture experiments

Be inspired to create out-of-this-world works using the Warp tool and source material at your disposal. Design duo Shotopop shows you how.

At a time when the illustration and design world seems increasingly reliant on the internet to source elements for new works, it's a good challenge to use your environment or go back to more traditional sourcing methods of interacting with the real world, especially if you find yourself in a new country or situation.

We're not saying that we never use the internet - of course we do, because it's quick and convenient - but you might find yourself on all sorts of adventures if you go outside to look for what you want.

It's also usually a good idea to take photos or pick up things that have interesting shapes or textures, whether you're on holiday, snooping around the neighbour's yard or you just happen to stumble upon something cool. Taking things out of their usual context can add a whole new dimension - even if that thing is you.
